Nico Tanigawa (谷川ニコ Tanigawa Nico) is a pseudonym for the author and artist of the mangaWataMote. They have worked on several other manga, such as Kuzu to Megane to Bungaku Shoujo Nise, Number Girl, and Write Shimai. Not much is known about them. The author is the one depicted with glasses. Apparently, given the way she depicts herself, the artist is left-handed.
According to the interviews, they met by working for the same company.[1] They started doing dōjins before making the full-fledged mangaChokku! They claim to not be a romantic couple.

They are very private and do not release much in the way of personal details including pictures. The author jokingly refers to himself as "Ikko" in interviews when he is alone. During a convention, they went as far as to wear cat masks hide their identities.[citation needed]
