Watashi no Tomodachi ga Motenai no wa Dō Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui.
No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault That My Friend's Not Popular.
Tomoko comes to school with her eyes closed like slits to imitate some character she saw in an anime. She asks Yū to affirm that her expression makes her look relaxed and mysterious. Yū politely agrees. Inwardly, Tomoko finds keeping her eyes half-shut a pain, and Kotomi feels her behavior does not match the archetype.
During class she has trouble seeing the board, so she decides to periodically occasionally open her eyes more, which the teacher notices.
At lunch, Tomoko claims she normally has the narrow slit eyes but opens them fully when "it's time to get serious." Suddenly, her eyes open why. When Yū asks why, Tomoko declares her pudding delicious as Kotomi inwardly wonders, "That's all it takes for you to get serious?"
After lunch, Tomoko excuses herself to go to the bathroom. In there, she relaxes her eyes and looks sad.
The following day, Tomoko arrives with her eyes wide open in the sanpaku look.
In order of appearance:
- Tomoko's struggles to create a character for herself began before high school.
- "Well right now, I'm thinking it's a pain to keep my eyes half shut like this." - Tomoko
