Synopsis

Hina, Yuri, Tomoko, and Asuka walk down a sidewalk together. Asuka remarks that they should get there if they walk straight forward. Hina asks her if she has been here before, and Chibi Asuka responds that her friend from middle school attends the high school, and she also has been to their school festival before.

At the registration table, an anonymously-drawn boy asks the blushing and sweating Tomoko if she has an invitation. Next to her, Yuri receives a pamphlet from the anonymously-drawn girl seated next to him. As they walk together, Hina remarks that their school will let anyone attend, but this one requires invitations. Asuka replies that that is what happens when there is the slightest trouble with guys trying to pick up (ナンパ・nanpa) girls. Yuri turns to Tomoko and asks if they should head directly to "Naruse-san." Checking the pamphlet, Tomoko notes that Yū is on the third floor so they can check some things out on the way.

As they walk, Tomoko sheepishly admits that this is her first time she has visited someone else's school, and it makes her a little nervous. She adds that their uniforms makes them seem that they are the "away" team. Asuka teases that perhaps they should have worn casual clothes.

An anonymously drawn boy offers Asuka cotton candy for ¥300. A chibi Asuka asks what Hina thinks about it; Chibi Hina replies that maybe after they have looked around a bit since they are pretty big. The chibi boy quickly suggests a "special offer" for ¥100. Tomoko turns to Yuri and asks if this is the "pick up" style of doing business.

The scene focuses on Yuri looking interested as the boy, off scene, enthusiastically offers one for ¥50, and if Asuka acts now he will throw in a second for free. The scene shifts to Yuri walking with two cotton candies. While Hina smiles as she looks down at the two cotton candies Yuri holds, Tomoko snaps that Yuri is holding them like weapons and demands to know if she really wants them. Yuri flatly replies that it is since they were only ¥50. She then adds that she can always throw out what she does not eat. Tomoko sarcastically replies that she loves how feeble her morals are. Meanwhile, another anonymously-boy approaches Asuka to offer bubble tea to "big sister (お姉さん・onēsan)." In the next panel, another anonymously-drawn boy offers churros to her then suggests to another that he call out to her next. Whilst Yuri munches on the cotton candy, Tomoko muses that the "Asuka Effect (明香効果・Asuka kōka)" is amazing.

The scene shifts to a view of the screening time for "2(b) Channel (ちゃんねる)" The description reveals that it is "Class 20B "Solitary Gourmet" with "Episode 32: Eating Katsudon Alone in Makuhari Hongō High's Cafeteria." A student invites people to come in for the start of the screening. Inside, the quartet sit in the auditorium. Hina looks at her pamphlet and remarks that it appears that this is the only movie they have. Next to her, Yuri hold up her two cotton candies. Tomoko sarcastically tells "Yuri-chan" that she looks like she is about to cheer someone as Asuka smiles at them.

Cutely, Hina takes a bite out of Yuri's . . . cotton candy . . . cotton candy as she announces, "give me a bite." Yuri looks at her with an expression that suggests irritation and offense. Tomoko adds that she would like a bite as well, only to have a churro shoved into her mouth in a manner that WataMote Wiki insists involves no subtext whatsoever. Asuka laughs as Tomoko . . . um . . . er . . . sucks on her churro. Chibi Asuka asks if it is good and confesses that it reminds her of their school trip.

Chibi Tomoko thinks that that was a "pseudo-blow-job," but this is more like a "face-fuck."

An anonymously drawn girl introduces the screening of "2(B) Channel," and while talking is fine, she asks them to refrain from using their phones. The scene shifts to the backs of the students heads as the film starts. The film shows a bowl of katsu udon with prices for different sizes. Boys and girls sit at their cafeteria tables eating lunch. The scene shifts to Asuka happily watching, Tomoko staring, having removed Asuka's . . . er . . . chorro from her mouth, Yuri still nibbling at her cotton candy, and Hina watching with a surprised look. The scene also reveals that she had taken sizable bites from Yuri's delicious sweet cotton candy.

The scene shifts to outside the theater. Two younger girls walk past also enjoying cotton candy.

The scene shifts to the outside of a "Bunny Cafe." Yū and an Anonymously Drawn Bunny-Chan greet customers with the traditional Japanese "welcome (いらっしゃいませ・irasshaimase)." Inside, Blond-Haired Bunny-Chan notes that they have a lot of customers. Another voice repeats the welcome then announces that four customers are coming. The two turn, and Yū is delighted to see Tomoko. As Yū excitedly greets "Mokocchi." Tomoko's eyes fixate on Yū's huge . . . tracts of land. As she recalls the way Yū greeted her two years ago, she thinks, "let's go!!" and runs up to embrace Yū hard, burying her face in Yū's huge . . . tracts of land. As she slobbers betwixt Yū's hills, she muses that she waited two years for this chance and intends to hump her like a pent-up shota in an onēshota manga.

She comes up for air to see that Hina, Yuri, and Asuka are quietly staring at her. She sheepishly thinks that she does not believe that she is any more vulgar that she was two years ago, but the stare from "all of them" hurts. The voice off-scene announces two more guests, and Itō, carrying a balloon, and Kotomi arrive behind them. Mutually surprised Hina and Kotomi greet each other with an "a." Chibi Yū happily greets "Komi-chan" and "Hikari-chan." Black-Haired Bunny-Chan greets Asuka. She says that Yū told her about her and rhetorically asks if they are friends, then finds this a surprise. Asuka replies that they became friends during the study camp. Half-bleached, Yū agrees that Asuka helped her study every day. Chibi Hina muses that she thought she recognized Yū. With a flashback to Yū greeting Tomoko at the previous festival she attended with her and Akane, Hina realizes that she is that girl.

She turns to Yuri and rhetorically asks if she attended the study camp with "Kuro's friend." Yuri confirms this. As a chibi, Hina remarks that it is good to remain close friends even after changing schools, then explains that she does not have anyone like that. Chibi Yuri remains silent. Black-Haired Bunny-chan looks past Asuka at the blushing and sweating Tomoko and pleasantly states that Yū has told her a lot about her. She trails off expecting Tomoko to give her name, but Yū helpfully introduces her as "Mokocchi." Tomoko stammers a whispering greeting and her name "Mokocchi."

With the view of the café's menu, Chibi Asuka notes that there is a lot on it. Chibi Kotomi states that she will just have a coffee. With a blush and lascivious smile, Tomoko asks if the "bunny pie" is like "Yū-chan's pies." Sweating Shocked Chibi Yū repeats "like pies?" and Irritated Chibi Kotomi demands that she not be stupid. With a background of strawberry and bunny, Chibi Tomoko continues to ask if the milk comes from Yū's "pies." Sweating but Smiling Chibi Yū insists it comes from cows. When Tomoko expresses disappointment, a Shocked Chibi Hina asks if Tomoko is being too cruel. Normal, Tomoko replies that she did this all the time in middle school. Shocked Chibi Hina asks how are they still friends, but Sweating Smiling Chibi Yū insists that it is because she is so kind.

The scene cuts to Tomoko's group and Kotomi and Itō sitting together. Hina asks what they want to check out next, but as Asuka starts to answer, Yū calls out to Tomoko. Chibi Tomoko notes that she has changed into her school uniform and asks if her shift is over. Yū replies that it is, then adds that she has borrowed two uniforms for Tomoko and Kotomi.

After they change and sheepishly stand, Asuka claps as she declares them "cute!" Yū turns to Asuka and suggests that they all go around the school together, but Asuka suggests that Yū go with Tomoko and Kotomi since they have the chance, and she is meeting with another friend. Hina declares that she will go with Yuri and Itō to their collective surprise. They pause and look at one another for a beat, then turn and declare, together, that they will be fine and Tomoko should get going.

Tomoko inwardly realizes that they cannot refuse and feels bad for bringing them.

• A Bunny Girl(s) has(ve) a Name?: From the Credit Where Credit is Due Department, reddit user KuroRead suggests that Black-Haired Bunny-chan is Yū's friend Sawa. While reasonable, no one addresses her as "Sawa" to confirm it. This may change. His listing of chapters also shows that Blond-Haired Bunny-chan is a friend of Yū. Both may first appear in Chapter 14, which WataMote Wiki deems "close enough for government work." They both definitely appears in Chapter 21. The names "Sawa" and "Mei" are first revealed in Chapter 170. • "A girl who cosplays in school uniform": In Episode 13, it was shown one scene of Yū dressing in Tomoko's school uniform, in this chapter, it's Tomoko who wears Yū's school uniform.

Memorable Moments

• Regression: Tomoko displays and confesses to anxiety around strangers. She also reverts to her "sexual harassment" of Yū.
• Hina Bites Yuri's . . . um . . . Cotton Candy: WataMote Wiki apologizes for the comic reference, and, no, that is not what the scene is about. Yuri tends to eat from other people's plates. Hina eating Yuri's cotton candy – snicker snicker – is her aggressive way of trying to bridge the gap between her and Yuri by using Yuri's own tactics.
• Deep Throat: whereas Asuka's placement of her "treat" in Tomoko's mouth with great vigor is similarly utterly and completely innocent. Yes. However, as Tomoko noticed, Asuka seems to make frequent subtle sexual double entendre. These are initially presented as perhaps only Tomoko's interpretation; however, they build up. Finally, some are more direct such as her infamous "hair" comment to Fūka.
