私がモテないのはどう考えてもお前らが悪い!

Watashi ga Motenai no wa dō Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!

No Matter How I Look at It, It’s You Guys' Fault I’m Not Popular!

Synopsis[]

In Class 2 - 4, Tomoki stands off from a group of students that includes Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan, Director Glasses-Chan, Akari, and Sayaka. A sign under the label for "2 – 4" reads, "Cinderette"[1] Track Suit Twin Tales-Chan[2] proclaims, "So, from today until tomorrow, let's put all of our energy into our performances!" The rest all cheer "Ō!"

Director Glasses-Chan turns to Track Suit Twin Tales-Chan and notes that since on the first day there will only people from the school, she does not think there will be many. Track Suit Twin Tales-Chan muses that then they do not have to be nervous at first. The are interrupted by an announcement, "Just a moment!!" Over a crowd of students at the entrance that include Kotomi, Hikari, Faced Sachi, Snacking Koharu, Kaho, Smiling Fūka, and a [Happily – Ed.] Beaming Miho, the announcement continues that a huge crowd has gathered, and they need help to organize them.[3] Regarding them, Director Glasses-Chan remarks to Not Wearing a Track Suit Twin Tales-Chan that some of them have been watching them since rehearsals, and she wonders why. The other notes that there are a lot of third-year girls and wonders whom they are looking at. "Me," a voice interrupts them.

Tomoki sits and grouses that they have probably come to see him. Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan inwardly emits an "E?!" and wonders why he became a Narcissist[4] suddenly. She then wonders if he got taken by the Prince, then adds, "of course not." Director Glasses-Chan thinks that even though he seems unmotivated, he is playing his part. Behind them, Akari inwardly laments that what he is saying is probably true, but everyone does not know that "Tomoki-Kun" is popular.

A Blond Girl with Twin-Tails[5] approaches the Not Wearing a Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan and asks her what she should do since there are not enough seats. Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan acknowledges her and calls out to the "boys" to bring some. Anonymous boys do so as Kotomi, Hikari, Kaho, and Miho[6] enter with a large group of anonymous students. Behind the entering Fǔka and Miho, Tomoko follows observing that Tomoki seems to know a lot of people. Walking next to her, Asuka agrees, "he's very popular." Walking next to Anna and behind Mako and Masaki, Reina demands, "Hey! How long will I have to wait? Hurry up!" Anna pleasantly tells her, "stop making gang moves."

Fan c217-3

Kotomi turns and demands, "Be quiet!! Mind your manners and don't bother the management!!" Angry Chibi Reina retorts, "Aaa?! Huh Glasses, I'll break your glasses!" Chibi Tomoko remarks that at the front of the line there is someone with a creepy flirtatious expression. Calmer, Kotomi grouses to Hikari about sudden fans.[7] With the imagination of an advertising paddle fan that reads, "Tomoki-kūn Fan," Hikari asks Kotomi if she would not make something like that. Kotomi retorts that hers cannot be achieved by such cheap worlds like "fan."

There are noises behind a rather improvised curtain. In the audience sits a happy Mako, a stern Masaki, a concerned Tomoko, a smiling Asuka, and a watching Yuri behind a snacking Koharu, an arms folded and narrow-eyed but faced Sachi, a rather smiling Miho,[8] and Fūka chatting with Kaho.

Disguised Kiko c217-3

"I am in . . . disguise!"

In another section, Shizuku sits with Kiko, who wears a baseball hat. Shizuku happily remarks that they just made it. Kiko replies that she is not that remarkable when standing in line, but she is hoping for something since her "Big Sisters"[9] are here.

Faceless, Sachi regards Miho and Fūka sitting next to her. With her face, she looks forward, smiles, and muses that "these bitches"[10] did come after all, but she does not want to fight them, then adds "level-wise."[11] For her part, Koharu munches on a snack. This causes Sachi to inwardly demand if she is eating too much and wants to consume her daily caloric intake in thirty minutes. She turns her attention to the stage, where Akari sweeps in her "Disney Step-Daughter Costume." Sachi continues her inner rant: "Well, since pigs don't get love, it's fine. What I'm more concerned about. . . ."

Step-Daughter Akari[-chan – Ed.] delivers her first line: "Now at the castle there is a ball, but I wonder if I can go. . . ." "This bitch and," Faced Sachi continues as she glares and recalls Sayaka announcing "those words," in her microphone: "There's also Kuroki Tomoki-kun and Iguchi Akari-san's love scene!"

Hate the Audience c217-3

The next panel shows Akari in her Disney Princess Costume. A similarly-dresses Sayaka commands her, "Since you're my foil, you have to be quiet." Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] complies. Tomoki observes the scene from the wings. As an Angry Chibi, he sees his sister staring stylistically surprised next to Masaki. He "tchs" and laments, "That bitch is here, it's so hard enough." He is interrupted by Black T-Shirt Cinderette Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan informing him, "Prince, you're on!"

As he enters the stage, someone in the audience exclaims, "Oh Tomoki's here!!" Clearly Reina shouts out, "Masaki's boy's come out!"

The next panel is from Tomoko's perspective. Faced Sachi looks in Reina's direction and thinks, "shut up." Angry Chibi Masaki screams, "I'm gonna beat you to death!!" Fūka turns to Miho and remarks, "let's see Kuroki's younger brother's acting skills." Miho happily asks her why she is looking at her.[12] In a view which is why we have Galleries, Faceless Sachi sees Tomoko staring ahead, her eyes and mouth wide open, and her deeply blushing. Sachi looks forward, regaining her face,[13] and thinks, "Face bright red . . . Bastard's even caused misunderstanding in a gloomer."[14] For her part, Tomoko inwardly marvels that she cannot believe how painful it is to watch her brother's "serious acting."[15]

Method Acting c217-3

"The Show Must Go On!"

Back to the stage, Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] asks if Prince Tomoki will dance with her as a last memory of "that prince." Sayaka pushes Akari aside,[16] rhetorically asks why Cinderette would talk to the Prince, then tells him to take her outside[17] instead. She smiles and makes a little curtsy,[18] but Prince Tomoki glares at her, then steps on her foot. Sayaka emits an "Ū?!" but maintains her character. Her foot makes the sound zuki zuki (ズキズキ)[19] as he approaches Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] and takes her hand.

"Prince. . . ." she gasps.

The two dance to music. In the audience, Kotomi scribbles a long description in a notebook. She notes that he improvised by stepping on "the bitch's foot."[20] She continues to note that she has seen things not done in rehearsal, then declares that Tomoki's acting has improved like the Cens●red in the Japanese Original™ Ichiro in the series Furuhata Ninzaburō.[21]

Akari returns to Step-Daughter Akari[-chan – Ed.] in the next panel with her broom. A narrator[ess – Ed.] explains that "Cinderetto" returned to her normal life as if the ball was a dream. In a flowered dress, Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka orders, "Cinderetto, also clean my room please." She continues that she is going to town and, "going to spend a lot of money, right?" In the wings, Director Glasses-Chan watches the anonymous narratress[22] continue her narration: "One day. . . ."

Exposition c217-3

Shown: Exposition

In another Panel that Justifies Galleries, Step-Daughter Akari[-chan – Ed.] listens in as Anonymous Step-Mom-Chan, smiling Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.], and . . . um . . . Covered in Black Robes-Chan sit at a table. Covered in Black Robes-Chan states, "Then about the castle's dinner party . . . I ordered it." Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] smiles, and Anonymous Step-Mom-Chan smiles and replies, "Yes, in the name of our people, let's make sure the Prince is dead!" From the perspective of the stage, Step-Daughter Akari[-chan – Ed.] demands, "Anonymous Step-Mom-Chan Sama[23], what does it mean 'make sure the Prince is dead?" Anonymous Step-Mom-Chan matter-of-factly replies that, as said, they will attend the dinner party tonight and kill the Prince. In response to Step-Daughter Akari[-chan – Ed.]'s protests, she explains that while it appears that their family lives as the daughters of a bereaved family, behind the scenes, with the Prince of the East being a nuisance to the King of the West, they are a family of assassins who undertake the assassination of important people.[24] Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] cheerfully adds that the previous ball was also an infiltration attempt to get closer to the Prince. She then declares that she planned to kill him, but since he is interested in her, Step-Daughter Akari[-chan – Ed.] will kill him. Anonymous Step-Mom-Chan "politely" asks her to please repay her for taking her in.

Subtle c217-3

Shown: "Subtle"

In the audience, Reina turns to Anna and asks what is going on, and Anna replies that she somehow understands. Sitting in front of her, Yuri muses that the sloppy sudden amateurish developments are nice. Students change scenery, and the stage becomes the dinner party at the castle. Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] hands Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] a flask subtly disguised with a skull and tells her to mix it in the Prince's drink. She then notices Prince Tomoki approaching with drink in hand from the entrance behind Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] and commands her to hide the drug.

Romance c217-3

Shown: WataMote Wiki cannot understand why Tomoki is so disliked by fans.

Prince Tomoki addresses Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.]: "Cinderetto, I meet you again." Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] pipes in to ask that he not forget that she is here too. He responds by grinding his boot into her foot and splashing his drink into his face. He then turns to Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] if she will accompany him to the veranda balcony. While she looks shocked, Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] maintains character but inwardly wonders if there was an interaction like this.[25] For her part, Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] accepts Prince Tomoki's invitation as she hides the poison under her arm.

From the wings, Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan and Director Glasses-Chan watch. The former asks, "Compared to the step-sister, doesn't the Prince have a more treacherous personality?" The latter meekly replies, "Um, I wonder if Tomoki-kun is preparing for his role. . . ." then adds that next time she will ask him to stop.

Facing the audience, Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] says, "Isn't the Moon beautiful." Looking away, Prince Tomoki replies, ". . . From that day when I met you until today, there hasn't been a day that I haven't thought about you." He turns to her and declares, "Cinderette, I want you to live with me, be my queen." In yet another panel that Justifies Galleries, the WataGirl™ audience reacts. Masaki looks upset and emits a "tsk (ちっ)," but Mako gazes at her with a smile. Next to her, Tomoko looks down, blushing and, well, cringing. Asuka smiles as she looks at Tomoko. Next to Asuka, Yuri stares ahead thinking. In front of Masaki, Koharu continues to munch but looks back at Faced Sachi who has a small and tight smile and emits a small laugh. Next to her, Miho is Miho: smiling brightly. Fūka looks ahead and remarks, "The lines are a bit slow. I want more emotion." For her part, behind Fūka, Yuri thinks, "When talking about a prince, the basic idea is to make a cool voice, but by deliberately reading it in a simple way, it creates a realistic image of a prince. It's the same calculation as me."

Acting c217-3

Actually Shown: Tomoki Showing Emotion!

Turning towards the audience, Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] declares, "Oh, what a waste of words, how happy I would be if I could take your hand now.. . . ." With a close up, she continues to explain that she and the Prince are not meant to be together, and she could never lay hands on the Prince. The next panel focuses on the flask, cleverly disguised with a skull, as she continues her discourse. Since she cannot betray the mother and sister who raised her, she has only one path left. She then drinks the poison and falls into Prince Tomoki's arms as she dies.

Holding her up and inspecting the flask, Prince Tomoki recognizes it is poison, and asks why. For her part, Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] eagerly attacks him with a dagger as she declares, "Cinderette, what a stupid little sister!!" and vows to do it with her own hand. Prince Tomoki catchers her forearm but also kicks her left shin with his own.[26] As "armored" guards seize her, she maintains character whilst rubbing her left shin. She laments that if he had died, her little sister would not.

Betrayal c217-3

Shown: "Fake it, Tomoki-kun!" – Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan . . . probably.

Brandishing the dagger and, yes, acting resolute, Prince Tomoki declares, "Cinderette, I won't leave you alone. I too now am with you. . . . ." He is interrupted by an Anonymous Boy innq Suit and Fedora Holding a Physician's Bag[27] He declares himself a physician and pontificates on how the poison is an apple poison, "Cinderette-Sama is in a near-death state, and a kiss from someone she cares for will save her." Tomoki turns his head with some surprise to look at Director Glasses-Chan and Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan standing in the wing. The former looks concerned, and the latter smiles slyly. The latter turns to her companion and opines, "Really, the Unhappy Ending is also dead, and that's the end of it, it's okay?"[28] Director Glasses-Chan confesses that "Yoda-san's idea" was better while she admits that she was drawn to "Romeo and Juliette." In the background is a flashback of Sayaka giving her idea to her.

Do It! Do It! c217-3

Shown: Sayaka's Cunning Plan™ is Popular!

In the audience, two boys sitting behind a Stressed-Masaki and a Gleeful-Mako scream out, "Okay! Kiss!" and "Tomoki go!" Gleeful Chibi-Reina screams, "Let's go kid!"[29] Equally Gleeful Chibi-Anna shouts, "Anything else you do is fine!!"

On stage, Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] and Prince Tomoki hear the shouts, "KISS!" and "DO IT!" Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] meekly opens her left eye to look up at Prince Tomoko who merely thinks, "This is bullshit."[30] Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] smiles from the wing. Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] whispers to Tomoki, "Tomoki-kun, don't push yourself. You don't have to do it." Prince Tomoki replies that even if they pretend to do it, "they will live happily ever after."[31] Triumphant, Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.][32] correctly surmises that since the two will just pretend and try to fool everyone, she has to help them.

Sayaka's Cunning Plan c217-3

Shown: "A Cunning Plan™, M'Lady!"

She starts to approach them on stage from behind. Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] whispers a warning to Prince Tomoki that Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] is approaching. He calmly replies, "I know, I'll give her the finishing blow (トドメ・todome) when she gets close." "'Finishing blow?!'" a shocked Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] asks out loud.

In the next panel, Triumphant Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.][33] imagines a semi-chibi version of herself pushing Prince Tomoki on top of Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.][34], who happily closes her eyes as Irritated Semi-Chibi Prince Tomoki's lips touch hers in a kiss.[35] For her part, Actual Chibi Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] perhaps exclaims, "she's come!" With her arms outstretched, Triumphant Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] declares, "Prince, I won't let you!!" For his part, Prince Tomoki rises in one motion with his right hand moving as a punch. However, Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.]'s left foot and shin make the sound (ズキズキ・zukizuki) they made when Prince Tomoko stepped on and kicked them. She reacts with surprise.

Sayaka's fail

Shown: "Make it Happen!"

In the next panel, both she and Prince Tomoki react in shock as she starts to fall past his fist.

In the wings, Director Glasses-Chan and Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan stare ahead in surprise. Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] sits up in shock. In the audience, Tomoko buries her head in her hands. A single panel depicts Kotomi's widened left eye. Across all, the sound "dōn" is heard.

Love c217-3

Shown: True Love™

On the stage, [Triumphant? – Ed.] Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] lays on Prince Tomoki with his right fist still raised. Their lips are locked together. While his eyes are closed,[36] hers are wide open, and she blushes deeply. Disney Princess Akari[-chan – Ed.] sits up in continued shock.[37] The next panel pulls back to reveal Evil Step-Sister™ Sayaka[-chan – Ed.] still on top of Prince Tomoki, locked in their kiss, but Tomoki's arm has fallen to his side. The audience cheers, "You did it!!" "Yoda!!" and "Tomoki!" After a pause, the narratress tries to continue, "With a kiss from the Prince, Cinderette woke up, and the two lived happily ever after."

In the audience, Mako gleefully claps. Next to her, Masaki looks down devastated. Next to her, Tomoko looks up with bleary eyes as she emits an "Ua." Asuka pleasantly claps. Next to her, Yuri looks a bit surprised as she marvels, "It wasn't acting, it was real." In front of her, Fūka stands and applauds as she proclaims, "What a novel way to end the show! The accidental kiss at the end, like in a girl's manga, didn't even look like an act!!" Next to her, Miho sits but somewhat-more-enthusiastically-than-mere-"happily" emits a shout as she claps with her hands above her head.

Next to Miho, Faceless Sachi sits in silence with her arms folded, her head suggesting that she is looking down. Next to her, Koharu reacts in shock to the behavior of Kotomi in front of her. An incensed Kotomi is in the process of standing as she throws her notebook and screams, "Fuck you,[38] I want my money back! Ōi!!" Seated next to her, a sheepish Hikari corrects, "Koto, you didn't pay."

Characters[]

Referbacks[]

  • "Everyone just doesn't know that Tomoki-kun is popular": on Chapter 210-1, few days before the real school festival started, many 3rd year girls when to class 2-4 to watch the rehearsal for the play, Kotomi, Masaki and Sachi did because they wanted to see Tomoki's performance, Koharu was taken against her will by Sachi, and Emiri, Fūka, Miho did because they felt curious for knowing what kind of person Tomoko's little brother was.
  • "I Was Always There, Onee-chan": on Chapter 216-1, when the class 3-5's movie was about to be projected, it was showed that Kiko was in the public sitting next to Shizuku and wearing Haramaku's school uniform; later on Volume 24 Omake, it was revealed that during the night before school festival, Kiko went and stayed over on Shizuku's house, being helped by this latter to sneak in Haramaku's school by lending her summer uniform; Kiko explains she did this because she wanted to know the real Tomoko, which she wouldn't get to do if Tomoko knew she was coming.
  • "Don't tell me everyone's here to watch that guy": it's still undertain if she currently sees them as such, but on Volume 23 Omake, after seeing Fūka and Miho standing in the same like as her to watch the class 2-4's play, Sachi analyzed them as potential rivals in her race to reach Tomoki's heart.

Cultural References[]

  • Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, Snow White: Sayaka had the brilliant idea of putting the three together to make Tomoki and Akari kiss.
  • Uchiwa (団扇): this is the Japanese "paddle" fan which Hikari imagines.
  • "The Bitch is Back!": Stone-Cold Sober, as a Matter of Fact! As previously explained, WataGirls™ tend to use the rude references "this one (こいつ)," and "that one (あいつ)" to refer to ones they do not like, consider inferior, et cetera. With sufficient venom, "bitch," and "this bitch," "that bitch," works as English translations. Sachi tends to wallow in that venom. Similarly, Tomoki says the furigana あいつ over the kanji for "sister (姉)." He even drops the honorific お!
  • Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?: WataMote Wiki sets this as homework. It is an infamous and classic film staring two aging famous stars, Bette Davis and Joan Fontane, who utterly despised one another. Davis famously hid weights in her costume prior to a scene where Fontane had to carry her up stairs. She also made mistakes requiring multiple retakes. Have fun looking at scenes where kicks actually connect!
  • "Just One More Thing!": the catch-phrase of Lt. Columbo of the show Columbo, which appears to be the inspiration for the series Furuhata Ninzaburō that Kotomi references. She specifies "Ichiro," who appears to be none other than Ichiro Suzuki, who had a minor career in Japan and did absolutely nothing in the proper MLB baseball, eventually whoring himself moving to an equally minor and unremarkable team in New York. No, WataMote Wiki is not bitter. Seriously, he had a fantastic career in both Japan and in the United States, and will probably be a well-deserved first-ballot Hall of Famer when he is eligible. It is a shame he never won a World Series; his primary team was infamously defeated in the playoffs by the "minor and unremarkable team in New York" that he eventually played for. [Get on with it! – Ed.] Right, in keeping with Kotomi's baseball obsession, she focuses on what was a single guest appearance of a baseball player. Look, Capt. Kirk also appeared in Columbo.
  • "Romeo was a Pu[CENSORED – Ed.]y!": in the actual play, Romeo drinks poison when he mistakenly believes Juliette is dead. She wakes to find him dead with the bottle, and complains that he left her not one drop for herself. She then takes his dagger and stabs herself.
  • 白雪姫: literally "white snow princess."

Trivia[]

  • "Negative Wisdom": Despite sitting in close proximity to Tomoko, Sachi still can't figure out that Tomoko and Tomoki are siblings. To which, WataMote Wiki will add that none of them, save maybe Nagi, seem to notice that Emiri seems "interested" in Tomoko.

Memorable Moments[]

  • "It feels like my little bro's love scene is gonna cause something even more destructive than NTR": As Tomoko predicted in the previous chapter, now Tomoki's accidental harem saw how Sayaka did NTR to them for an accidental kiss, to top it off is well received by the public.
  • A Crack in the Porcelain: Sachi generally has a very high, if not ridiculously high, opinion of herself. Much of it appears a defense mechanism, but she does show actual shock and disappointment Chapter 205, when she thinks she has encountered a rival to Tomoki. Granted, in her mind, Tomoki has been deflowering upperclasswomen by the score out on the veranda. Still, she sees herself as special and better than Akari, Kotomi, and even Masaki. Her inward concern that she is at the same to even lesser level than a Fūka and Miho is, perhaps, a small crack in her façade and inward mendacity that will lead, inevitably, to her future as a social worker serving the depressed neighborhoods in Las Vegas . . . probably.
  • "The Show Must Go On!": whatever the Noble Readership thinks of Sayaka, she does not break character. She has a bright future in acting, and will, eventually join Yuri Tamura in a duo with Tomoki [Citation Needed – Ed.]
  • "Fake it, Ingrid!": Tomoki, Glasses Director-Chan, and Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan's reactions suggest that they improvised the "happy ending" without telling him based on Sayaka's announcement.
  • "A Vivid Kiss": Due to the accident at the end, Sayaka probably gave Tomoki his first kiss. Tomoki probably gave her her first kiss. Somewhere, Kagome Inuyasha nee Higurashi is imagining a wedding.
  • "Inside Yoshida's mind, a football trophy shatters": Yoshida looks absolutely BROKEN at the final panel from Tomoki and Sayaka's kiss.

  1. シンデレット (Shinderetto): a combination of "Cinderella" and "Juliet."
  2. Without her track suit. WataMote Wiki could rename her "Black Shinderetto T-Shirt Twin Tails-Chan," but what is the point?
  3. Translation Note: WataMote Wiki feels it instructive to note that if one only mechanically translates the sound, or hiragana, without paying attention to the respective kanji, this announcement would read, "There's a huge crowd of people showing up, even though they're menstruating.”
  4. ナルシスト (narushisuto)
  5. Blond Twin-Tails-Chan?
  6. Happily.
  7. Translation Note: Kotomi says the odd remark にわか (niwaka) which can mean "sudden," but also "fair-weather fan" as slang. This would fit her feeling that all of the other girls in the universe are "suddenly" fans of Tomoki whereas she, alone, has been devoted to him.
  8. All of the "Happily" jokes aside, Miho appears very enthusiastic about viewing this play.
  9. Translation Note: Japanese does not slavishly indicate plurality when context suffices. However, Kiko adds the pluralizing tachi (達) to "Big Sister" (お姉ちゃん・onēchan).
  10. Translation Note: using her tried and true koitsu (こいつ) with the pluralizing "ra" (ら) added.
  11. レベル的に (reberu deki ni): "level-wise to" to be overly hyperliteral. Sachi basically concedes she does not compete at their "level."
  12. Translation Note: Kudos to the Fanilators. Miho [happily – Ed.] says "what's your line of sight," as in why is Fūka looking at her.

  14. Translation Notes: Sachi refers to Tomoki with あいつ. Perhaps "bastard" is a bit harsh, but Sachi is having a "moment!" "Gloomer" is 陰キャ (inkya), which is "anti-social," "negative personality," et cetera, combining "shadow (陰)" with a shortened, "キャラクター (kyarakutā)."
  15. ガチ演技 (gachi engi): with ガチ meaning "serious; earnest; honest; real; legit (from がちんこ)."

  27. The Boy not the fedora.
  28. Translation Note: this is a difficult one and no shade thrown to the Fanilators. TSTT-Chan says: 本当はアイシも死んで終わりでしょういいの?(hontō wa aishi mo shinde owarideshō iino?). Hyperliterally: "Really, aishi also dead by (means of), it is over, is that okay?" Aishi (アイシ), in the katakana, appears to be an emphasized あいし which, depending on the kanji, can mean "sad, tragic story," to "condolences." So, TSTT-Chan appears to ask if it is okay to ruin the tragic ending.
  29. 小僧 (kozō): also "brat." From a term for young apprentice monks. Because WataMote Wiki cares!
  30. Translation Note: Perhaps WataMote Wiki is a bit loose with くだらねぇ(kudaranē), which can mean a lot of things like "nonsense" as well as "this is bullshit," but Tomoki seems that irritated.
  31. Translation Note: WataMote Wiki goes with the Fanilators on this one. It could be read as, "Even if I pretend like I did, you'll live happily ever after," with that last phrase from "満足住んだろ (monzokusundaro)," or "in satisfaction [noun] will live!" However, it would seem too cruel for Tomoki to play with Akari's emotions by referring to her, so his sarcasm is directed towards the audience.
  32. Who looks does like an older Kii-chan. See the Gallery.
  33. Really does look like an older Kii-chan.
  34. Which makes the sound "don."
  35. Which makes the sound, "chu."
  36. Which is, of course, a sign of True Love . . . probably.
  37. Which means the diagnosis of the "Doctor" was wrong. WataMote Wiki feels that this is important.
  38. ざけんな (zakenna): An all-purpose curse, insult in Japanese. There is a glossary of "dirty Japanese" for English speakers titled Zakennayo!
