私がモテないのはどう考えてもお前らが悪い!

Watashi ga Motenai no wa dō Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!

No Matter How I Look at It, It’s You Guys' Fault I’m Not Popular!

Synopsis[]

In costume, Tomoki strides towards the similarly costumed Sayaka and Akari. In the audience sits Miyazaki, Nagi, and Kayo with Hikari and Kotomi seated in the row in front of them. Miyazaki squeals, "A-, Kuroki-san's little brother's come!" Nagi suggests, "if you look closely, he's pretty handsome!"[1] Nonplussed, Kayo responds, "Really? Apart from that the kiss, still?"

On stage, Princess Akari addresses Prince Tomoki directly, while Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan descretely holds on to her: "Prince, as a final memory, will you dance with me?" Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan demands to know why someone with "Cinderella's social standing," is talking to the prince: "Prince, why don't you dance with me instead of this?" Prince Tomoki turns to Akari Cinderella, extends his hand, and formally insists that he is the one to make a request. Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan introjects, "With this shabby woman you want to dance, what, the Prince has no taste, right." Cinderella whispers to Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan that since it is a dance scene, could she leave, because she will be cursing and clinging to her like a tsundere sister. Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan quickly[2] picks up on it and leaves, with her left leg making the sound "zuki" as she steps. She maintains her smile as a tear appears in her eye. Prince Tomoki and Cinderella watch Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan gingerly exit the stage.

An Anonymous-Chan acts as narrator as other Anonymous-Kuntachi rearrange scenery. She narrates that, to Princess Akari Cinderella, the ball seemed like a dream, and she returned to her ordinary life. In the next panel, she concludes that then came that fateful night for Cinderella.

Backstage, Evil-Stepsister Sayaka-chan sits with her bare left foot elevated on a box. Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan reminds her that the next scene is the last one and asks if she can go. Sayaka insists that she is fine. Holding her left leg, she happily brightly insists that even if it ruins her left leg, she will have no regrets. Chibi Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan repeats, "Yoda. . . ." Behind Sayaka, Akari fumes that she will just get a red mark, regret it, and act like the tragic heroine, "Sayaka. . . ." Director Glasses-Chan sheepishly approached Tomoki and asks, "Um, Tomoki-kun, in response to Yoda-san, at the end, kiss. . . ." but Tomoki cuts her off with a refusal and claims that she is talking, without expression, about an absurd marriage.[3]

Fan Service c228

Shown: Fan Service!
Probably. . . .

In the next panel, Cinderella lies dead in [Prince – Ed.] Tomoki's arms as he holds the bottle of poison and delivers his lines of shock. He turns to see a struggling [Evil Stepsister – Ed.] Sayaka-chan approach him with her dagger. From the wings, Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan stands next to a concerned Director Glasses-Chan and shouts encouragement to Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan. In a move designed as fan service,[4] an Anonymous Kun screams, "STAB KOROKI TO DEATH!"

With great effort that should engender the admiration of fans despite her failure as a wing woman, [Evil Stepsister – Ed.] Sayaka-chan drags her left foot as she painfully advances. From the wings, shouts of "Do it!"[5] "STAB HIM!" and "KILL HIM!" rain upon the stage like the tears of Angry Tomoki-Hating Fanboys upon reddit.[6] As Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan gasps, sweats, and struggles to approach, Prince Tomoki thinks that dying will not solve the situation and wonders when he became the enemy.[7]

The Show Must Go One

"The Show MUST Go On!"

Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan continues to sweat, shake, and blush as she gasps her lines: "Ha!Ha! Cinderella. What a foolish little sister. . . . If it comes to this by my hands. . . ." The Dead Cinderella quietly tells Tomoki that, "even like that, she's still my friend." He assures her that it is fine: "I won't kill her." Inwardly, Cinderella exclaims, "Tomoki-kun?!" She returns to her Eternal Slumber and muses that she has seen his current look before: "Like he's fighting something . . . like he's determined about something."

Prince Tomoki faces the flushed, sweating, panting, but still-in-character Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan. "Now this bitch[8]," he thinks, "with one blow I could kill. . . ." He looks out at the audience, which appears comprised of Anonymous Chans 'n Kuns and with satisfaction notes that someone, probably his sister, is not there. As Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan makes slow her lunge, Prince Tomoki thinks, "'Play a role,' 'make the play a success,' doing both is not a challenge." He then concludes as he turns to the side, "I can do it I think. . . ."

Tomoki X Sayaka c228

He trips Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan's right foot. she moves past him, looks with shock, and in a panel that justifies Galleries, finds herself cradled in Prince Tomoki's arms. Blushing deeply, she inwardly proclaims, "REVERSE PRINCESS CARRY?!!"[9] In the audience, Kayo, Hikari, Kotomi, and Miyazaki stare with surprise, whilst Nagi-chan looks with joy. "DOG HUG?!"[10]

Prince Tomoki thus carries the shocked and deeply blushing Evil Stepsister Sayaka-chan to his guards and unceremoniously deposits her in their arms. He then looks back towards the Joined the Bleedin' Choir Invisible[11] Cinderella. He crouches down next to her, whilst she inwardly emits an "E?!" From the perspective of the audience, his face covers hers, and he appears to kiss her. In the audience, Miyazaki blushes and squeals a "Kyā–," Nagi blushes and smiles, an ecstatic Kayo shouts, "Kiss! Kiss!," while applause emanates from the rest. For her part, Kotomi folds her arms, looks suspiciously, and mutters, "no, that. . . ." Hikari looks at her with concern.

With an expression of shock that also justifies Galleries, Cinderella looks up at Prince Tomoki. In the wings, a shocked Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan stands next to a placid Director Glasses-Chan. Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan turns to the Anonymous Narrator-Chan and declares, "A-?! Narration of the kissing pattern!!"[12] The next panel depicts Prince Tomoki taking a rather happy Cinderella's hand as Anonymous Narrator-Chan explains that Cinderella was in a state of suspended animation,[13] awakened by the Prince's kiss, and the two lived happily ever after, to the applause of the audience.

The curtains close on the applause.

Happy Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan, with an also Happy Director Glasses-Chan. exults, "Good job, Tomoki!!" Nonplussed, Tomoki sits in front of them, and without looking at them, remarks, "this was satisfactory." Director Glasses-Chan sheepishly replies, "Yeah. next time continue please." Tomoki curtly warns her not to get carried away, he will not do it again, and he will kill her.[14] "Scary. . . ." she replies. Akari and Sayaka observe the trio. Inwardly, the blushing Sayaka thinks, "Tomoki-kun . . . cared about my leg. . . ." For her part, Akari regards her with concern and thinks, "Sayaka . . . In the first place, the injury to your leg was Tomoki-kun's fault, and even if he was concerned about it, it would be a case of domestic violence."[15]

Still flushed, Sayaka holds onto Akari's shoulder as she struggles to say, "A-! Akari, you and Tomoki-kun kissed, even if it was an act, is great right!" However, Akari inwardly rages that Sayaka is looking down on her. Calmer, she turns to look down on Tomoki and thinks that she did not want to do it as an act, but. . . .

The Happy Trio of Miyazaki, Kayo, and Nagi[-chan – Ed.] approach the waiting Kaede and Natsu. Nagi calls out an apology for keeping them waiting. Natsu replies that they are back and late. Nagi insists that she saw something good. Kayo agrees that it was something really worth seeing. Irritated Natsu insists that she does not care and tells them to replace them since they also want to look around.

The next panel reveals Koharu sitting in the foreground behind Sachi who looks towards the viewer who shares Nagi's perspective. In the background, a Concerned Megumi walks with an Alarmed Masaki reacting to Nagi. A Beaming Chibi Nagi speaks over this: ”It's best to go see 2-4's play! Because you can see Kuroki-san's little bother's kissing scene!!"

With her eyes Sachi thinks, "Really, he likes kissing, doesn't he. . . ."

Characters[]

In order of appearance

Referbacks and Referforwards[]

  • "A Gang without Their Emoji": in Chapter 224-3, Miyazaki, Nagi, and Kayo overheard the conversation that Class 2-4 was having a play with Tomoko's younger brother played in it and kissed someone.
  • "I'll be Your Support, but not Emotionally": Sayaka has had difficulties walking since Tomoki injured her in Chapter 217-3. Chapter 224-3 reveals she had to use a crutch. For this reason, Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan and Director Glasses-Chan considered accepting Kotomi's offer to replace her, having memorized everyone's lines from her continued watching of rehearsals, in Chapter 226-2; however, Akari refused that. It appears she has allowed Sayaka to hold on to her as a solution.
  • "Are You Going to Bark All Day, Little Doggie? Or are You Going to Bite?": in Chapter 220-1, after watching the class 2-4's play and the kiss scene, Kiko fantazised with pairing Tomoki and Sayaka, and sort of played the wingwoman for this latter, seeing her like a small breed of dog in her head. Now during the second day, after Tomoki made Sayaka to trip in the stap scene, he saved her from hitting the floor and carried her in his arms, which presumably Kayo thought Tomoki was carrying Sayaka like a large breed of dog.
  • "Even after knowing about your relationship, you can't help but assume he's a playboy": Mako said Sachi in Chapter 220-3 how Tomoki is Kuroki's little brother, which made this one to reinterpret her previous assumptions, and think Yuri and Masaki only went to Tomoki's house because they're Tomoko's friends. However, and remarking it was just a play, after Nagi mentioned the kiss scene with Kuroki-san's little brother, Sachi still reacts fazed and assumes Tomoki likes kissing.

Trivia[]

  • "Your Kiss is on My Lips?": "She's a man-eater!" Tomoki-kun! Does he actually kiss Akari?
  • "How to Talk to Girls!" Let Master Tomoki Teach You!: While "Google-Fu" will recommend "cocky," that does not fit Tomoki. Tomoki says, "調子乗んなもうねーよ 殺すぞ (chōshinonna mō nēyo korosuzo). 調子 is "tone, rhythm," and 乗 is "power" as in a multiplication. As a combination 調子乗 is, as a number of linkypoos indicate, is "to get carried away."

Memorable Moments[]

  • Transfer the Title: One of the few times the title refers to another character.
  • Gone Girl: One of the few times Tomoko does not actually appear.
  • "I'm Still Big! The Pictures Got Small!": some love for Sayaka-chan – Worst Wing Woman™ – performing injured.
  • "You Bear Your Lose with Great Fortitude, Ma'am!": With apologies to Brian Cox, does Tomoki actually have some admiration for Sayaka's willingness to act despite the pain he clearly caused her? Whatever he thinks of her, she does do her job with enthusiasm which may be something he can respect. Just speculation on WataMote Wiki's part and, no, no suggestion this means she is part of what the Angry Tomoki-Hating Fanboys deem the "Tomoki Bowl."
  • "Mourning Becomes Akari": did Tomoki consider letting Sayaka "kill" him so he would not have to kiss Akari?
  • "Class 2-4's Number One Enemy": Aside from Akari and Sayaka, Tomoki's relationship with his classmates is largely unknown; however, even if it is just a joke, his classmates do cheer on Sayaka to kill him. WataMote Wiki will add that they also cheer him on to kiss Akari.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Tomoki finds Tomoko annoying. He warns her in Chapter 35 to not talk to him in school. In Chapter 217-3, after Tomoki saw Tomoko among the audience, he cursed. In this chapter, he expresses relief Tomoki to see that "she's not here."
  • "Regrets? I've had a Few": Despite finally kissing Tomoki "off panel," Akari has some regrets that it was just acting.

Cultural References[]

  • "AC-Ting!": the title just has "act (アクト・akuto)."

  1. Translation Note: WataMote ever uses furigana for what the character says over explanatory kanji. In this case, Nagi-chan says, "ikemen (イケメン)," over "男前 (otokomae)."
  2. Even "happily," but not like Miho-chan, goodness no!
  3. Translation Note: ever going with the more literal translation, no disrespect to the Fanilators. However, WataMote Wiki will confess laughing when an online translator used to check spat out, "You're a faceless marriage mess." 😥 Tomoki also uses the rude "you," made famous in the title. Hardly "Charming," there, Tomoki-kun!
  4. Probably.
  5. Using the tried and true "ganbare-."
  6. Evidence: Rage o' reddit
  7. When you shattered Sayaka-chan's tibia?
  8. Using the rude and emphasized in katakana "this one (コイツ・koitsu)." Tomoki is probably thinking of something less laudatory than "this one!"
  9. Translation Note: Quite literally: 逆お姫様だっこ (gyaku ohimasama dakko). 逆 = "reverse"; お姫様 = "princess"; だっこ = "carry."
  10. Translation Note: from the furigana いぬのだっこ (inu no dakko) over the kanji (õgata no mochikata) or "way to carry a large dog."
  11. "THIS . . . is . . . an . . . Ex- . . . AKARI [-chan – Ed.]!!"
  12. Translation Note: Seriously. Track Suit Twin Tails-Chan says, "キスしたパターンのナレーション (kisushita patān no narēshon)!" パターン is "pattern," as well as a predictable behavior.
  13. Translation Note: or "apparent death," with "suspended animation" as an alternative which works more in English.
  14. See Trivia.
  15. "Domestic Violence," is represented with "DV."
