Synopsis

Memories with Koharu-Chan in the First Year (１年の時小春ちゃんとの思い出・1 nen no toki Koharu-chan to no omide)

Without her face, Sachi puts on her shirt as she listens to the news on the television. The news is censored and describes a male student, who goes to a high school in a censored city in a censored prefecture, roller skated nude as a test of his courage but ended up rolling onto the highway. With her face and smiling, Sachi turns towards the screen and thinks, "Amazingly stupid" as the report continues that his fellow students who were playing with him said they never thought something like that would happen.

Outside, without her face, she walks with Koharu, Mako, and Yuri. Koharu turns to her and asks if she saw the news about the high schooler who got into the accident. Without her face but smiling, Sachi replied that she did. Koharu laughs as she declares the student a "major idiot" and the story hilarious.

Shown: The Last Vestiges of Sachi's Soul

Without her face, Sachi sweats as she inwardly confesses that it was funny, but she wonders if they really should joke about it since the student died. While Yuri looks ahead, Mako turns to Koharu and gently remonstrates her that this is not something they should laugh about. Surprised, Koharu asks her why not. To herself, Sachi finds her response to be expected.

With a view of the outside of the school, Sachi's voice asks "Koharu-chan" to walk home with her. As they do, without her face, Sachi turns to Koharu to ask if she remembers the news report they discussed that morning. Warily, Koharu confirms that she does. Smiling with her face, and with animesque lens flare, she declares that she also found it hilarious.

Koharu immediately brightens and agrees. Laughing, Sachi continues that the student was older than they are yet he died. After her laugh, she wonders what the funeral will be like. Koharu laughs back that there will not be any tears.

Afterward (あとがき・atogaki)

The Author part of Nico Tanigawa holds the Afterword from Volume 10. It depicts the two with the statement that they sincerely doubt that they will make it to a Volume 10. As the scene pulls back to reveal him reading while the Artist stares up at the stack of volumes, he notes that they not only managed to reach Volume 20, they managed to do this for 10 years. He turns to her and notes that in the Volume Two Afterword they suggested that they may get axed by Square Enix and have to draw elsewhere. She reminds him that they were axed elsewhere, and he growls back for her to stop.

He notes that a lot has happened in the past ten years over a montage of him involved in multiple accidents. She questions that as, over the years, she remains drawing. The next panel show both of them performing the dogeza bow. They thank the readers for allowing them to keep drawing WataMote for ten years with 20 volumes in a row. They thank the readers again, and they ask them to stick with them of a little longer. The final panel depicts the Short Story Anthology as they remind that the second WataMote Short Story Anthology has been released by Seikaisha Fictions. He notes that there are a lot of interesting stories besides the one he wrote.
